AREAS AFFECTED: Fannin; Lamar
DESCRIPTION: At 144 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Pat Mayse Lake, or 14 miles northwest of Paris, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Camp Maxey, Sumner, and Pat Mayse Lake around 150 PM CDT. Paris and Lake Crook around 155 PM CDT. Reno around 210 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include East Direct, Monkstown, Toco, Noble, Forest Chapel, Garretts Bluff, Direct, Allens Point, Midcity, and Forest Hill.
INSTRUCTION: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and
may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud
is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.
Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall,
becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds.
When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
