DESCRIPTION: ...The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Ohio... Blanchard River at Ottawa affecting Putnam County. For the Blanchard River...including Ottawa...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Blanchard River at Ottawa. * WHEN...From this evening to Thursday night. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Lowland flooding occurs mainly in south Ottawa. Flood water also gets into low farmlands. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 22.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 23.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.

an observable effect on rainfall, due to an effect called the urban heat island.
Compared to upwind, monthly rainfall between twenty and forty miles downwind of
cities is 30% greater.
